The Staff
Rick Roberts , Director of Finance Rick has come to our affiliate after having acquired a number of years of experience in the construction accounting arena. Early in his career he served in the employ of a software development and consulting firm which was specifically focused on meeting the accounting, estimating and computer hardware needs of the construction industry. In his role there he traveled extensively assisting contractors with their unique computerized accounting system needs. He worked closely with management and accounting personnel in all of the various construction trades as well as general, heavy highway and upscale residential contractors, making sure that they had the information they needed to effectively run their operations. Later, having determined to minimize travel for the sake of his family, he took on the role of Controller for one of his former construction clients. More recently and just prior to having arrived on the Habitat scene, he worked for several years in public accounting. Wanting to stay sharp in his field and acquire the latest useful accounting information, Rick stays active as a member in the local chapters of the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Payroll Association. He’ll be glad to tell you that there is never a dull moment at Habitat. There are many interesting as well as unique aspects of the Habitat organization that help to make each day interesting and the whole experience quite an adventure. From Rick’s perspective, Habitat for Humanity is an organization that allows him to enjoy some of the things that are of greatest interest to him… Being involved in the Lord’s work of helping others in need, residential construction, real estate acquisition and development, and of course… accounting. rroberts@habichatt.org ext. 12
